March for Meals

By Uncategorized

J.W. MacIntosh Community Support Services has seen a steady increase in the demand for Meals on Wheels in our community. This has put extra burden on our volunteers to deliver meals on wheels, sometimes having to volunteer two or three times a month, which they are happy to do. Our volunteers in South Dundas have stepped up to ensure the meals get to our appreciative clients.

The Meals on Wheels program delivers meals 3 days a week, offering a frozen meal for clients to heat up on the days we do not deliver. Meals consist of a soup, entre that includes a protein, side and vegetable, and a dessert. We are able to accommodate special diets and special needs such as puree, chopped etc.

January 1, 2022 to December 31st, 2022 we served over 15,605 meals to 144 clients. The number of meals and clients has more than doubled in the past 3 years, showing what a vital resource our meals on wheels program is in our community.

There is always a need for more volunteers to help support our programs, not just Meals on Wheels but our Foot Care, and Adult Day programs. Please call Cathy Tupper at 6135-535-2924 to find out how you can become an important member of our team.

Volunteer Appreciation

By Uncategorized

On Thursday, AprilĀ  22nd, 2021 we celebrated our amazing volunteers-COVID style.

The staff at J.W. MacIntosh Community Support Services delivered hot meals to each volunteer to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.

Throughout the pandemic our volunteers have gone above and beyond making sure our clients are still safely served, whether that be a drive to a medical appointment, a hot meal delivery or a weekly phone/video call.

Thank you so much for everything you do!
